My Story
Born in Brăila, Romania, in 1951, into an Armenian family with a rich history in the rug business, I have been immersed in the world of rugs since a young age. From 1972 to 1974, I worked at a rug factory in Brăila, where the intricately crafted pieces were exported to the West. This early experience laid the foundation for my lifelong passion and expertise in antique rugs.
Rug craftsmanship runs deep in my family. My mother was a master weaver in Romania, and her skills and dedication greatly influenced my journey. In 1974, while in transit to the United States, I spent time in Beirut, where I honed my skills in rug repair.
Arriving in the USA in 1975, I began working for an oriental rug dealer, where I deeply immersed myself in the field. I honed my skills in identifying and appraising different types of rugs, gaining valuable hands-on experience in purchasing and selling. This period was instrumental in shaping my career, providing me with a rich understanding of the market and the intricate art of rugs.
To this day, I am dedicated to the art and craft of antique rugs. I take great joy in what I do and continue to share my passion and expertise with others.
